Find out how many displays you can connect
From what I could tell with my iMac 21.5 inch mid 2010 running 10.10.5 yosemite, all I would have to do to use the Mac as a display for the PS4 was aquire a hdmi to mini display port (this is the input the Mac uses as it does not have a thunderbolt input). I have said cable (hdmi to mini display port) and plugged it in correctly to the hdmi input on the PS4 and the mini display port on the mac. If you want to use the built-in speakers of your iMac to play audio from the other Mac: Choose Apple menu System Preferences, click Sound, then click Output. Select the iMac as the device for sound output. You can then use the sound and media keys on the keyboard of the other Mac to adjust volume and control media playback.
